Habitat for Humanity Residential Project

CONCEPT
Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit, Christian-based housing ministry that works in partnership with deserving, low-income families, and the community to eliminate poverty housing through building simple, decent homes. This ministry helps to build the community by involving diverse religious, social, and business groups in the construction of homes. They provide opportunities for families in need to purchase their own homes, build community, and improve their lives. Homes are sold to partner families at no profit and are financed by Habitat with an affordable, no interest mortgage. I was assigned a single parent mother, named Orithor, who immigrated from Africa and works in a major grocery chain. She has three children, all girls of ages 2, 6 and 8. Using cost-sensitive materials and background information, I was able to design this home.
